Mark Richert's
Midwest Railroad ... and garden railroad, too!

This O scale layout models a generic Midwestern river bluff town. The layout is about 80% complete and sceniced, and what's there already is amazing. Three complete loops run around the layout plus plenty of switching, including a nice-sized turntable.

Locomotives range from 68 years to 4 months old, some brass, and some have outstanding sound (you can hear the horn echoing off in the distance!)

Mark controls the layout with TMCC, DCS, and a good old fashioned transformer.

Mark also has an O scale garden layout under construction in his front yard!





Here you can see the track and raised roadbed Mark uses. The roadbed (and the ties) are a composite plastic material; wood would never hold up to the weather in Central Texas.
