Tom Foreman's
Brushy Creek & Santa Fe and Longhorn Creek & Santa Fe

LOCATION: Cedar Park (Northwest)
SCALES: HO & G
SIZE: 20' x 16' (HO) and 40' x 10' (G)
The Brushy Creek & Santa Fe Railroad models the modern era BNSF using Burlington Northern and Union Pacific track. The layout has about 99% scenery completion (are we ever really finished?) Denver has a full-scale Union Station. The layout has about 300’ of track done in a bi-level modified mushroom style. Additional track was added in 2020 and 2021.

Trains start in Corpus Christi and travel through Austin and Temple on level one. Then they go up a helix to Denver and on to Salt Lake City. An excursion train goes to Cripple Creek, Colorado. Fall colors prevail with aspens showing their beautiful foliage. The layout is dominated by a huge mountain with a real seven foot waterfall (yes, with running water)!

Trains are controlled using Digitrax DCC. Extras include a thunderstorm (with lightning and thunder), working wind turbines, a working oil rig, the Austin City Limits stage with Asleep at the Wheel playing, a working water tower for steam trains, and more!

Tom also has a G scale dead rail garden railroad called the Longhorn Creek & Santa Fe, which is set in the 1970's era. Track is a continuous loop dog bone. The highlight is the 8' long steel bridge built with rivets and steel tubing that spans the lower part of th eLonghorn Creek...a man-made creek with waterfall that runs about 45' across the back yard. The gondola might even be carrying iced beer as the train makes its loop. Modern engine with sound, battery powered, pulls the cars. The G scale railroad is handicapped accessible.
