Edmar Wienskoski's
Santa Fe Railroad

LOCATION: Southwest Austin (Steiner Ranch)
SCALE: HO
SIZE: 20' x 30'
OPERATING SESSIONS: Occasional
The railroad is a "domino" design based on the 1960's Santa Fe mainline from Galveston to Brownwood, and the branch lines from Somerville to Silsbee and Lampasas to San Saba.

All of the track work including 118 scratchbuilt turnouts is complete, and scenery is in the first stages. All the main line turnouts, staging yard turnouts, as well as signals are controlled by a PC with two 21" monitors. The monitors display a CTC control panel complete with switch and signal levers, code execution buttons, and block occupancy indicators. The layout is operated with DCC using a system which Edmar designed. He also designed and built accessory decoders, loco decoders, a command station, throttles, booster, power supply, and PC software. Several locomotives are equipped with on-board decoder controlled uncouplers that can be activated from the throttle.

Also be sure to check out the "duckunder" bridge that Edmar designed and built as well as the special lighting effects (like sunrise and sunset)!
