The layout follows the SP’s Shasta route from Dunsmuir, CA, through the Canyon, Small, Cantara Loop,
Pioneer, Black Butte, and over the Dry Canyon viaduct to points North. The scenery and backdrop are
complete including a large painted representation of Mt. Shasta. There are staging yards at each
end of the 350 foot mainline to represent connections with the rest of the world. The layout’s era is
the mid 1950’s and features late model heavy steam locomotives and first generation diesels pulling
long freight trains and local and through passenger trains (Shasta Daylight). Five hundred new trees
(now 1500 plus) have been added.
