Central Texas Layouts

The Central Texas area is blessed with many model railroaders and over 60 great layouts. There is something for everyone: large layouts, shelf layouts; layouts focused on scenery, layouts focused on operations, and layouts focused on switching; some are just under construction and some have been around for many years (we all know they're never really finished).

Here is a list of some of the area layouts. Check back, as we'll be adding more pages over time. If you'd like to have a page for your layout added (or have updates), please contact the Division Director.

We've also got a Forum dedicated to discussions and updates about our area layouts.

Location is relative to Austin, which is the "hub" of our Division, though many of our members live in other cities throughout the Division.

There are also two live steam railroads in our general area, the Wimberly, Blanco & Southern, near Wimberly, and the Comanche & Indian Gap, located near Comanche.

And if all that weren't enough, we also have a number of clubs in the area, each with fine layouts of their own: Finally, if you're really ready for a fun train ride, there are other options too, ranging from the small trains at the Austin Zoo, and the Cedar Rock Railroad, to the real thing at the Austin Steam Train!

Something for everyone!
